A large e-commerce company ran 150 services as a distributed monolith β€” deployed together, sharing databases with complex synchronous dependencies. Any deployment required coordinating 15+ teams. One service failure cascaded across the entire platform.

ZippyOPS was brought in to design and implement a solution addressing the root causes of the client's challenges β€” delivering measurable outcomes within a fixed engagement timeline. Our team worked embedded with the client's engineers throughout the entire project.

How We Solved It

ZippyOPS led a domain-driven decomposition workshop to re-draw service boundaries, then executed a phased migration to independently deployable services on EKS. Istio service mesh was deployed for mTLS and traffic management. Each service got an independent GitOps pipeline via ArgoCD with canary deployment capability.
